IAS faculty members and students participate in UW Ferguson and Beyond teach-in

Several IAS faculty and students participated in the UW-wide teach-in, “Ferguson and Beyond: Race, State Violence, and Activist Agendas for the 21st Century,” which was written up in the Seattle Times. IAS faculty members Dan Berger and Scott Kurashige presented on the panel “真人线上娱乐 Past is Always Present: Contextualizing US State Violence,” and Wadiya Udell moderated the panel “#Blacklivesmatter: A Universal Call for Social Justice.” IAS undergraduate student Alejandra Perez, presented on the “真人线上娱乐/Youth Activists: Vanguards of 21st Century Social Justice.” IAS faculty members Ron Krabill, Yolanda Padilla, and Wadiya Udell, along with IAS graduate student Marcus Johnson, moderated the lunchtime break-out discussions. More than 303 students and faculty and staff members attended the teach-in, including those taking part in a course co-taught by IAS faculty members Sarah Dowling and Ron Krabill.
