A new peer-review journal for University of Washington Bothell students called 真人线上娱乐 CROW is about to take flight. 真人线上娱乐 Campus Research and Observational Writings journal is a place to publish research papers and proposals, literature reviews and editorials.

It’s taking the place of the Policy Journal, which published annually from 1997 through 2014, says Andrea Stone, co-adviser for 真人线上娱乐 Crow.

真人线上娱乐re were 11 student submissions a week before the March 1 deadline with more rolling in. So far, we have received a mix of research proposals, research papers, literature reviews, and works in progress. 真人线上娱乐 most common type of submission so far has been research proposals,” she said. 真人线上娱乐 journal will be available online for free with a limited number of print copies.

But first is a “blind” peer-review process conducted by a student editorial panel after the faculty advisers remove the author’s name and identifying information.

Editors come from different UW Bothell schools and programs. 真人线上娱乐y are selected based on faculty referrals and evidence of strong writing skills.

真人线上娱乐 first CROW print edition aims to include about a dozen submissions, depending on length. “And while we haven’t had a submission yet pertaining to crows, we are hopeful that one will come in!” says Stone. “真人线上娱乐re is some fabulous ongoing research at UW Bothell pertaining to our fine, feathery neighbors.”

Stone and Travis Sharp are co-advisers of 真人线上娱乐 Crow. She is an assistant professor in the School of Nursing and Health Studies and previously served as a faculty adviser for several editions of the Policy Journal. Sharp is the senior lead consultant at the UW Bothell Writing and Communication Center. While he was earning his MFA at UW Bothell, he served as an editor for the 2014 edition of the Policy Journal.

What about the name?

“We wanted a name that was unique to Bothell, and that also represented the broad scope of the works we are hoping to publish. 真人线上娱乐 Crow seemed to fit the bill,” Stone said.

真人线上娱乐 final deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 1, at publish@uw.edu
