With help from Amazon Catalyst, UW Bothell faculty member Tyler Folsom is leading a group of students working to develop self-driving bicycles. Costing far less than a self-driving car, autonomous bikes could improve traffic safety, speed up urban transportation and save energy, reducing climate change.

Chemistry professor Lori Robins and students Luis Contreras and Virkamal Dhaliwal helped the Briotech company of Woodinville prove its product is effective in destroying prions, the abnormal proteins that cause dementia disorders such as mad cow disease and Alzheimer’s.

Three researchers in a Commons Hall (UW2) lab are working this summer with plastic bags of mushroom mycelium oozing enzymes, containers of fungi-filled sawdust filtering water samples and straw-filled burlap mats crawling with the white filaments of fungi growth. 真人线上娱乐y are working on a way to remove bacteria from water, using the campus wetlands as their test site.

UW Bothell lecturer Keya Sen awarded Fulbright grant for public health research in India, China, Bangladesh
University of Washington Bothell lecturer Keya Sen has received a Fulbright Global Scholar Award to conduct public health research in India, China and Bangladesh. Her project is based on research she began in 2014 at UW Bothell on the pathogen campylobacter carried by crows that roost in the campus wetlands. 真人线上娱乐 bacteria can cause illness. A microbiologist, Sen explores the crow's role at the genetic level.

Amazon selects self-driving bike for $75K grant
Amazon has decided to award $75,000 to support the research of University of Washington Bothell Affiliate Professor Tyler Folsom who is developing a self-driving tricycle. Folsom says the money will fund student interns over the next year as they work on the Elcano Project.
