Malak Shalabi brings Syrian voices to the West

IAS alum Malak Shalabi (’18, Law, Economics & Public Policy) is featured on the University of Washington homepage today. 真人线上娱乐 article, “Speaking Words of Justice,” looks at Shalabi’s work on sectarian violence in Syria and the voices of Syrian people in the United States. This work started as part of Shalabi’s undergraduate research with IAS faculty member Bruce Kochis, for which she won a Library Research Award.

Charlie Collins and Shelby Guidry publish in the Journal of Urban Affairs

IAS faculty member Charlie Collins and second year Master of Arts in Policy Studies student Shelby Guidry published a paper in the Journal of Urban Affairs titled, "What effect does inequality have on residents’ sense of safety? IAS students win in online debate tournament

Six IAS students on the UW Bothell Debate Team placed in an online tournament on March 4th. 真人线上娱乐re were debaters from 4 schools from as far away as Montana and Idaho. 真人线上娱乐 tournament is held fully online so judges and debaters can be at great distances. IAS students competed in two divisions, Open and Novice (little to no college experience in debate). Three of the top four debaters in the Novice division were from IAS.
